HISTORY
Tyndale House Publishers is a leading publisher of Bibles, books, videos, CD-Rom, calendars, and other Christian literature. Founded in 1962 by Dr. Kenneth N. Taylor, Tyndale House is recognized for The Living Bible, Dr. Taylor's paraphrase first published in 1971. More than 41 million copies of The Living Bible have been sold. In 1996, following a decade of work by more than 90 biblical scholars, Tyndale House introduced The New Living Translation, the "fastest-growing Bible translation," with more than six million products sold. 1995 brought the launch of the Number One best-selling "Left Behind" fiction series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. Five books have been released in this apocalyptic fiction series, and more than 8.5 million "Left Behind" products have been sold. (Book six, Assassins, will be released on August 5, 1999.)

Positioned for even further growth, Tyndale House is involved in strategic partnering. In 1998, Tyndale became the publisher of Focus on the Family brand of adult products on marriage and the home. In 1999 Tyndale House and the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) have combined their publishing and communications dynamics to present The Book Campaign, a three-year national multi-million dollar project to encourage Bible reading.
