WISE GUY.
The importance of attentiveness and self-control
Our friendly narrator tells about Solomon, who was attentive to his father David's training, and became a wise king. Kingsley encourages us to pay attention so that we too can learn and be wise, just like Solomon. We need to pay attention to things, like crossing the street, and to people, like our teachers at school.
The story of Naaman shows how he used his self-control in order to benefit from Elijah's advice. We learn that having self-control means controlling our thoughts, our words and actions. Monk learns to exhibit his self-control by trying not to snack before dinner time!
